What makes one card worth $0.10 and another worth $10,000?
Rarity
Cards range from Common to Secret Rare to Illustration Rare. Higher rarity generally means higher value, with Illustration Rares and Special Art Rares commanding the biggest premiums in modern sets.
Condition & Grading
A raw Near Mint card might be worth $20, but a PSA 10 (Gem Mint) of the same card could fetch $200–$2,000+. The jump from PSA 9 to PSA 10 alone can be 5–50x. Condition is king.
Edition & Print Run
1st Edition Base Set Charizard sold for $420,000. The same card in Unlimited? Around $500. Shadowless prints, 1st Editions, and limited promo runs carry massive premiums over standard prints.
